Advising

English majors or minors with a concentration in Creative Writing should make an advising appointment with the current Director of the Creative Writing Program or with any of those faculty listed under "Creative Writing Faculty" on our department's People page. English majors or minors with a concentration in Literature, British Literary History, or Women's Literature should make an advising appointment with the current Director of Undergraduate Studies or with one of the faculty members listed under "English Literature Faculty" on our department's People page. You are free to go to any advisor who is appropriate for your concentration within the major or minor, and you may change advisors at any time.

You can also find out more information about advising at the University of Miami on the university's Undergraduate Advising page. This page includes instructions about how to schedule an advising appointment with professional advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences.

When you go to your advising appointment, please take a copy of your Degree Progress Report (DPR), which you can print out through CaneLink, and a completed checklist (see below).
